Hi to all! 💜
I haven't published a DIY project so far, so now it's time for one DIY project. I have been reading and following the topics of environmental preservation for a long time, and I believe that it is necessary for each of us to take care of how much we affect the environment and how to begin to change certain habits, because that is the only way we will all together preserve and protect our city, state, continent and then the whole world. Nothing happens at once, but if we all go straight to act, nature will fight back multiple times. Let's start first by using reusable cotton totebags instead of useless plastic bags that will save us a lot of money and serve a lot longer.
In this post, I will show you how to sew a simple reusable grocery bag for fruit and vegetables...
I found the material in the Italian fabric shop called Italtes, where you can find extremely good materials of different composition at very low prices. I bought two different designs. I also bought a pair of shoe laces that would be used to bind these cotton grocery bags.
My plan was to sew two grocery bags, one 30x30cm and another 40x40cm so that by these measures I cut the material and then sewed them with a sewing machine. I wanted to tie these grocery bags with a shoe lace instead of making a classic tote bag. I used the opening on the pits as in the picture, leaving enough width for a shoe lace.
In the end, I just pulled in the shoe laces, and that's it. This DIY project is very simple and very useful. You can wash these cotton fabric grocery bags in the washing machine and use them countless times. Using them you will contribute to reduced plastic and be one of the eco-friendly citizens.
For this DIY project I was inspired by Going Zero Waste. On this site I came across a lot of interesting texts related to environmental preservation and came across a lot of useful tips on how to become more environmentally aware. Think about how often you buy plastic bags even when you don't even need them, just because it's a habit. Try not to use them or at least as little as possible. If you haven't used grocery bags before, let this post of mine inspire you to start using them instead of plastic bags.
In one of the following posts I'm going to talk about ecology.
