Volite i čuvajte svoje bližnje!
Do narednog teksta!

Hi to all 💜
The other day I watched a brilliant Serbian film by director Predrag Antonijevic, which recently premiered first in America and then with us on the public broadcaster RTS1. Most assume what movie it's about, Dara of Jasenovac. In my opinion one of the best films made in Serbian.
Dara of Jasenovac is an extremely well-filmed war drama. The personnel themselves, the set and the extremely persuasive acting have been brought to the fore, especially the little Dara, an extremely talented young actress. This film can also be considered one of the first major films to speak of the chassis and injustices committed at the Jasenovac camp during Second World War. The film is difficult to watch, a large number of scenes have made me tears, as it reminds me of how our ancestors were neither guilty or obliged to be killed in the camps. The film is only part of the horrors that took place at that time in Jasenovac and other concentration camps. We see what terrible conditions they lived in, how tortured they were to work, both men and women and children. The people in those camps died for the most harmless thing. A large number of children remained orphans, many children were born into German and Croatian families and were born with the aim of forgetting their origins and their roots.
Much of the drama surrounds the difficult decisions women had to make in the face of the horrors of genocide. Do you steal corn to feed two children and potentially be beat, even killed? Do you send children to other people's families in the hope that they will have a better life while being prepared for the fact that they will never see them again? These are just some of the questions that are indirectly asked in the film and deepen an even scarier and creepier picture of the Holocaust.
I don't think this film is the slightest anti-Croatian propaganda, it can't dispute the truth and brutal murders of innocent people. This film should not be the cause of the tumultuous repetitions and challenges, but should be an example of what happened both in this space and in other places in Europe and should be a reassurance that something like this should never happen again.
Many foreign film critics call this film a brutal achievement, a story that is not often told. Sophisticated directing and brilliant performances by actors aside.
I believe the film lost the Oscars for Best International Feature Film for political reasons. But even without the Oscars, this film is important for the present and future Serbian generations because it stands there as a witness to what happened, about innocent brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, grandmothers and children who died because of someone else's evil and proudness. If you've seen Schindler's List or The Pianist, then you'll like this movie. The theme is the same.
This was my brief review, I'm not going to reveal every detail of the movie, that's up to you.
I'd like to hear your reactions of the same? How did you experience this movie?
